Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte starrer Indian black comedy thriller film Andhadhun released on October 2018 had grossed ₹106 crore worldwide. In China alone, Andhadhun has grossed ₹335.38 crore. And so, it became the third-highest grossed Bollywood movie in China. After Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ (₹1200 crore) and ‘Secret Super Star’ (₹700 crore), Andhadhun joined next to the list.
The movie also bagged three National Awards: Best Hindi Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor for Khurrana.
The sources reveal earlier, Tamil veteran actors Dhanush, Siddharth tried to get the movie rights for Tamil, no wonder we will be surprised who took the rights on. Its Thiagarajan’s son, Top Star Prashanth will be reprising the Ayushmann Khuranna’s role as a blind pianist in its Tamil counterpart. Prashanth’s father Thiagarajan bagged the Tamil remake rights for Andhadhun.
It is notable that Prashanth’s previous film in a lead role, Johnny was also a remake. The movie was an official remake of Sriram Raghavan’s Johnny Gaddaar. We’ve seen him last on-screen playing a small role in a Telugu movie, Vinaya Vidheya Rama. The actor’s last super hit at the box-office was in 2005 Tamil movie, London. After then, his movies are not favored by the audiences. Hope he’ll find his old form back in the industry.
‘Actor Prashanth had completed the fourth-grade exam in Piano at Trinity College of London. Also, he plays piano in free time at home. Therefore, he would be a better choice for the pianist role’, told Thiagarajan in an interview.
More details regarding other participants in the film will be revealed. The shoot will start soon, he added.
