Petta Movie Review
Petta Movie Review

Petta, Karthik Subburaj`s fifth directional film with the renowned actor, Indian Superstar Rajinikanth. Petta is actor Rajinikanth`s Pongal entry after 24 years. The film starts in a college where Rajini as “Kaali” comes to work as a temporary warden. He tries to protect a student in the hostel. The mystery of why Kaali comes to college as a warden and what was his connection with the student whom he wanted to protect is the main story. The revealing of this mystery and followed by the events involves the movie Petta’s plot.

The first half was really a treat with the Karthik Subburaj`s touch of the Rajinikanth`s moments. But the second half was completely overcooked with the lack of director’s touch.

The movie contains a bagful of multi stars involving Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha and Sasikumar. Like all mass actor movies, the other characters occupy less screen spaces and their performances never reached the audiences.

The music composer Anirudh nails it with his wonderful performance as with the songs and also the background score that perfectly suits the Rajini movie.

It could have been better to shorten the movie from 3 hour duration as it lags throughout the second half.

We can see completely stylish Rajini from 90`s for sure and it is a must watch for the Rajini fans. The film carries the absolutely perfect Rajinism throughout the entire movie.
