Netflix show ‘Money Heist’ also known as ‘La Casa de Papel’, a Spanish heist series which is a instant hit worldwide and it is up for the third season this July. However, show creator Álex Pina is looking to pin his writing on his next crime-drama series White Lines.
Netflix will like to run the ten episode UK-spanish series. After the success of shows like Narcos, Dark and Money Heist, it is clear that audiences are likely demanding different stories set in different locations.
The official synopsis states: “When the body of a legendary Manchester DJ is discovered 20 years after his mysterious disappearance from Ibiza, his sister returns to the beautiful Spanish island to find out what happened.
Her investigation will lead her through a thrilling world of dance clubs, lies and cover-ups, forcing her to confront the darker sides of her own character in a place where people live life on the edge.”
Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy, Transformers: The Last Knight) is playing the lead role and she’ll be accompanied by Marta Milans (Shazam, The Pier), Juan Diego Botto (Good Behavior), Nuno Lopes (Saint George, Lines of Wellington), Daniel Mays (The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Laurence Fox (Victoria, Lewis) and Angela Griffin (Turn Up Charlie, The Detail).
The White Lines will shoot from June-October in the Balearic Islands including Majorca and Ibiza. Directors will be Nick Hamm, Luis Prieto, Ashley Way and Alvaro Brechner. Chris Croucher produces, while Álex Pina and Cristina López Ferraz will executive produce for Vancouver Media (Money Heist). There will be 10 episodes in the series and they’ll all be an hour long.
If White Lines receives the popularity as Money Heist, then we knew for sure that Netflix found a new jackpot.
